Shari McCoy

Shari joined Landmark in November 2009, bringing prior experience from both small and large CPA firms. Over the years, her expertise and dedication have propelled her to the position of Tax Director. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both Arizona and Arkansas, dedicating the majority of her time to tax work. Shari brings a wealth of experience across various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, real estate and retail. Her specialty lies in tax planning and management, with a focus on complex business issues such as repair regulations, qualified business investor deductions, multi-state taxation, S Corporation-specific issues, and partnership-specific issues. Shari is passionate about utilizing her deep knowledge of tax law to help clients lower their overall tax liabilities now and in the future, whether through optimizing depreciation options or structuring business transactions efficiently. Shari also shares her knowledge through one-on-one and group training sessions with staff members.

Shari’s career in accounting began with an early interest in the subject during high school, influenced by her aptitude for math and the encouragement of her older brother. Before joining Landmark, she gained valuable experience at various firms in Kansas and Arizona. Shari holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in accounting with an emphasis in taxation from Kansas State University, graduating magna cum laude. Outside of work, she is actively involved in her church and manages a flexible schedule to homeschool her children.
